If you have essential oils in your house, chances are you have an essential oil diffuser too. Once you read all these great essential oil diffuser recipes, you will probably want a diffuser so you can experiment.
The truth is, smelling essential oils can be really helpful to everyone in the house. An essential oil diffuser spreads the oil love to everyone in the area.
What is an Essential Oil Diffuser Anyways?
Let’s start with the basics of what an essential oil diffuser is so that we are all on the same page. It is a fact that oil diffusers have become more and more popular as essential oils have become more popular.
Oil diffusers take water and essential oils and micronize them into the air. If we just throw drops of oil into the air, they fall to the ground right away. Here, the diffuser, with the help of its ultrasonic plate, mists the oil and water mixture into the air so that it is lighter than air and can float around the room.
You want to be sure to get a diffuser that has a glass or a hard plastic well in it because essential oils break down soft plastic. That’s why it is not wise to add essential oils to humidifiers or vaporizers because they can damage the plastic in the machine.
Also, it’s important to use a cool mist diffuser because heating essential oils can change their properties and make them less effective.
Lots of stores sell diffusers, but I like to get mine directly from Young Living because they come with a one year warranty. Also, I believe their quality is better too.
Most importantly, the type of oil you put in your diffuser is more important than the recipe itself!
We are being fooled by labels when they say “100% Pure” or “All Natural Essential Oil”. The truth is that United States labeling laws are very lax and oils don’t have to be pure at all. A portion of the oil has to be pure, but not the whole bottle.
Therefore, I encourage you to do your research or use my research and use only Young Living oils. Besides that, our families are too precious to be playing around with diffusing junk oils that could harm their respiratory or immune systems.
Here are a few of the Young Living diffusers and what they offer:

Diffusers vs. Wax Burners
Essential oil diffusers have these properties:
- They use 100% pure essential oils
- No synthetic chemicals or toxic ingredients will be floating through the air
- Freshens the air
- Can improve your mood (and those around you)
- May assist in concentration and memory function
- Helps support overall health and wellness for the whole family
- Relieves tension in a stressful environment
- Uses plant-based essential oils and has the Seed to Seal guarantee if you use Young Living oils
Wax burners have these properties:
- Petroleum-based wax – petroleum is made from gasoline!
- Contains chemicals that can irritate the nose, eyes, throat and respiratory system
- Formaldehyde may be released into the air when the wax is melted
- Claims to be all natural but many of the scent names can’t possibly be natural with names like “cotton candy” and “birthday cake.”
Therefore, if you’re going to put a scent into the are in your home, why not let that scent be from plants found in nature. Above all, that way you’re not exposing your family to toxic chemicals that could possibly harm their respiratory system and more.
When you use only Young Living essential oils, you are ensuring that your family is getting pure essential oils that are properly sourced, distilled and packaged. I would not trust any other essential oil brand on any member of my family!
If you don’t already have a Young Living membership or oil kit, feel free to follow the instructions here so that you can purchase the best oils at the best price. I hate for anyone to have to pay retail!
